Welcome to our new school website which will hopefully give some insight into school life in St Genevieve’s High School. This website is currently ‘a work in progress’ and not all the information has been uploaded at this time. Information is available from the school on request.
In 1996 the Department of Education selected St Genevieve's with three other secondary schools and two FE colleges to be Pathfinder PFI projects. We moved to this site from Edenmore Drive in March 2002, the first PFI school in the Catholic Maintained Sector. Among its many facilities the school has an Oratory, extensive Sports Facilities including gym, sports hall, fitness suite, running track, tennis courts and numerous sports pitches.
The most recent technological advances in educational resources, including ICT access throughout, a large library of multimedia resources, careers suite, sixth form centre, drama theatre and music suite. Under the contract the consortium, BES, provide comprehensive facilities management services over the next 25 years including building and grounds maintenance, catering, cleaning, post distribution, security and waste management. The company also run a help-desk to act as a centre co-ordination function.
I hope you enjoy this snapshot of life in St Genevieve's which hopefully gives some insight into our school including our ethos, pastoral care strategies, curriculum and extra-curricular activities. We consistently strive for excellence not only through our education provision but in our efforts to care for and develop each individual morally, spiritually, socially as well as academically.
Our vision for the school continues to be immersed in the St Louis tradition which will always enrich our school life. Whilst retaining the best traditions and practices already established within the school, we continually seek to change and develop.
